Heya Guys,
My name is Taniya D'silva and I'm 17 years old from Bombay,India currently an intern in the World Citizenship project with Linh and Chinmay(popularly called"Chin".i know what you're thinking but no Linh and Chin are not related!!!). I am also a second year university student of microbiology(YES i can almost hear you say "yuck!!!") in India (i just got the news that i passed a couple of days back so im still basking in the glory of it).I am almost at the end of my internship in Oradea with only 10 days more left here but i can say for sure that my stay in Oradea has been one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences of my life....
My experience as an intern in the wocish project(yes i love using short forms) has a very important role to play in helping me create unforgettable memories in oradea....I still remember my first training in oradea(boy....was it scary) which was held at gojdu and me being very apprehensive about standing in front of a bunch of participants exactly my age and talking to them about globalization and energy in the world...sweaty hands and feet and the butterfly feeling in my stomach refused to leave...but as soon as i met my first batch of students they made me feel so relaxed and at ease that it was really easy for me to deliver a very good training at the end of which i found myself feeling very satisfied. After the initial uneasiness it became unbelievably easy for me to be at ease in front of the participants and deliver trainings about topics that i personally felt very passionate about and relevant for the participants as well.We worked hard to make the trainings as exciting as possible with ice breakers and games at regular intervals also at the same time making sure that the information was getting through to them...I especially cherish the memories of me and the participants hanging out for a cup of coffee after hours and just talking about normal teenage stuff like school, fashion and yes ofcourse the greatest mystery of all.......
BOYS!!!!
My experience in romania has been so awesome.....from my first experience of snow to seeing sheep for the very first time in my life to eating a turkey(something i have never done before),everything.I have made some really good friends(the overhead picture is me and Linh on the eve of easter sunday) here whom i will never forget and even when i go back to India I intend to keep in touch with them through mail, phonecalls and the life saver "yahoo msngr".Romania is very different from India in terms of population, geography, tradition and culture but i never felt that i was ever away from home in Oradea.Oradea became my second home for the past two months...where i have had some very beautiful and funny memories.
It is sad that i have to leave very soon but i leave Romania with the hope that i will come back to visit this beautiful country again and friends that i have made for life and to relive the memories that i have had here.So its not goodbye yet its only NE MAI VEDEM....:)
TE IUBESC,ROMANIA.
kisses,
Taniya
